BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

This beachfront property in the British Virgin Islands was so exquisite that these clients asked us if they should tear down the existing house and start from scratch. The developer-built house paled in comparison to the vista of Necker Island beyond the crystal clear lagoon in the distance. However, the house's U-shaped organization and central courtyard were ideal for tropical indoor-outdoor living.

Since the footprint provided a great starting point, we convinced the clients to do a full gut renovation rather than a reconstruction. We created new primary and junior primary suites, a combined double-height living and dining room space, a full family kitchen, full chef's kitchen, four guest suites, and a media room. Now that they have plenty of space to entertain and relax, the clients come for the views but stay for the experience of this home away from home.
